Return and Refund Policy

Reservoir Books wants every customer to be satisfied with their purchase. We take care to describe each book accurately and to provide photographs showing its principal features and any significant condition issues.

Returns

If you are purchasing as a consumer, you may notify us that you wish to return an eligible purchase within 14 days of receiving it. Once you have notified us, the item should be returned within the following 14 days.

Please contact Reservoir Books, or use the return facility available through our website, before sending an item back so that we can provide the appropriate return instructions.

Books must be returned in the same condition in which they were received and must include any accompanying dust jackets, wrappers, letters, documents, inserts, ephemera, certificates or other material supplied as part of the purchase.

You may examine a book to the extent reasonably necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and condition. Where handling has gone beyond what would reasonably be necessary for such an examination and has reduced the value of the book, we reserve the right to make an appropriate deduction from the refund where permitted by law.

Please do not clean, repair, restore, remove material from or otherwise alter a book that you intend to return.

Nothing in this policy limits any statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Return Postage

Where a return is made because you have changed your mind, you will normally be responsible for the direct cost of returning the book.

We strongly recommend using a tracked service with insurance appropriate to the value of the item and retaining proof of postage until the return has been completed.

If a book is materially not as described, incorrect or damaged in transit, please contact us before returning it. Where Reservoir Books is responsible for the return, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return postage as appropriate.

Refunds

Once an authorised return has been received, we will inspect the item and process any refund due to the original payment method.

Where required by consumer law, a refund following cancellation will include the price paid for the book together with the cost of our least expensive standard delivery service. If you selected an enhanced, expedited or more expensive delivery service, the additional cost above our standard delivery charge will not normally be refundable.

Refunds will be made within the period required by applicable law. Your bank, card provider or payment service may take additional time to show the refund in your account.

Where permitted by law, we may withhold reimbursement until the returned goods have been received or until you provide evidence that they have been sent back.

Damaged or Misdescribed Books

Antiquarian and collectible books frequently show evidence of age, ownership and use. Condition issues clearly described or shown in the listing form part of the condition in which the book is offered.

If your order arrives damaged, or you believe that a book differs materially from its description, please contact us as soon as possible.

Please retain the book and all of its packaging while the matter is being resolved. We may ask for photographs of the item and packaging where these are required for a courier or insurance claim.

Your legal rights in respect of goods that are faulty, damaged or materially not as described are separate from any right to change your mind.

European Union Customers

Customers in the European Union have a legal right to withdraw from most eligible online purchases without giving a reason.

You may exercise this right at any time before dispatch and for 14 days following delivery. Where an order contains several items delivered separately, the relevant period begins when the final item has been delivered.

You may notify Reservoir Books of your decision using the cancellation or return facility provided through our website or by contacting us directly.

After notifying us of your decision to withdraw, please return the book within 14 days.

For a voluntary return, you are normally responsible for the direct cost of returning the item. We recommend using a tracked and adequately insured service.

Where required by law, we will refund the purchase price together with the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option.

Nothing in this policy removes any mandatory consumer protection available to you under the law applicable to your purchase.

International Returns

Customers outside the United Kingdom and European Union should contact us before returning an item so that appropriate shipping and customs arrangements can be discussed.

Unless a longer period is required by applicable law, we accept requests for eligible international returns made within 14 days of delivery and ask that the item is returned within the following 14 days.

For voluntary international returns, the purchaser will normally be responsible for the cost of return shipping and any associated charges. Original international delivery costs are not normally refundable unless required by applicable law or where the book was materially not as described or damaged in transit.
